About Bike Inc Timaru
Darren has over 30 years experience in the bicycle industry. He started as a young rider in the north east of England competing in various races and events, before progressing to qualifying and working as an outdoor education guide. To further utilise this experience he decided to open his own shop in Strathallan Street, Timaru – Bike Inc, now at the new location of 84 Stafford Street, Timaru.
Darren is one of only a handful of fully qualified mountain bike guides within New Zealand; he earned the Scottish Mountain Bike Leader Award (SMBLA), which is regarded as the best and most recognized industry qualification in the world.
He has experience riding across the globe having ridden in Canada, the United States, Asia, Australia, the United Kingdom, and of course New Zealand. He has extensive knowledge of the New Zealand terrain and firmly believes that we have has some of the best riding in the world right on our doorstep.
As a fully qualified mechanic in the South and Mid Canterbury and North Otago regions, Darren is an expert in wheel building, fork and suspension servicing. Bike Inc is a service centre for Fox, Rock Shox, Marzocchi and all other suspension components, as well as being a certified Shimano service centre and Sram tech centre. Bike Inc provides professional bike fitting for all kinds of riders, from recreational riders to seasoned racers wanting to get the most out of their bike.
